Supportive footwear with an effective grip, but preferably walking boots, are required, as are a packed lunch, a drink, sun cream, hat and spare warm and waterproof clothing. A walking stick may aid your balance.

Partishow and Cwmyoy
A strenuous 8 mile walk with three steep but short ascends. Excellent views with a visit to the two medieval churches on the route.
Meet Wickes Car Park NP20 5GN 09:30 or the start of the walk at Forest Coal Pit at the entrance to the Grwyne Fawr Valley. There is a five way crossroads with a telephone box in a lay-by. Parking is limited so please where possible car sharing is recommended.. Some tracks are poorly maintained, so bringing secateurs would be an advantage.

9 Mile Walk – Kewstoke and Woodspring Priory

Start of the walk will be Worlebury Hill Road Weston Super Mare BS22 9SQ
The walk is moderate with a great variety through woodland and meadows with a splendid section over undulating cliff tops, there are some rough an uneven sections out on the coastal path, so stout shoes or hiking boots are recommended.
There will be some road walking through a residential area and a steep descent over uneven steps, there is also one steepish incline towards the end of the walk.

Llangatwg Escarpment and Nature Reserve
A 9mile walk with ascent of 1,200 ft. One of the most beautiful walks in South Wales, taking in the canal near Crickhowell, fields, paths, country lanes and the Craig- y- Cilau Nature Reserve, followed by spectacular views of the Usk Valley and Black Mountains.

A walk up through the wood up to the mountain ridge, walk along the ridge towards the reservoir. Total ascent 1,200 ft. Maximum altitude 2,300 ft.
